The father in today’s gospel is someone whose love never
changes

He is always willing to forgive – ready to welcome us with
open arms.

Chrism Mass in the
Year for Priests
Each
year, during the Chrism Mass, priests renew their commitment to
Priestly Service. This year, as we celebrate the year for priests, this
renewal of promises takes on a special significance. This special
jubilee year, which marks the 150th anniversary of the death of St.
Jean Vianney, the Cure of Ars and patron of Priests, is meant to
“deepen the commitment of all priests to interior renewal for
the sake
of a stronger and more incisive witness to the Gospel in
today’s world”.
For
this reason, I want to invite you in a special way this year to
participate in the Chrism Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral at
7:30 pm on
Tuesday, March 30, 2010, as a sign of your appreciation for the gift of
the ministerial priesthood and to support our priests as they seek to
respond to the Holy Father’s call to interior renewal for the
sake of
the gospel. |
