1st SUNDAY OF ADVENT As Advent begins we are told to be alert, for we do not know when the master of the universe will come.  Jesus told  His disciples: all else will pass away, but My words will not - beware: for you do not know when the time will come.
Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation- confessing our sins, is an important step in preparing for the coming of the Christ Child at Christmas.  Christmas Confessions:  Monday, Dec 19th  7pm  & Sat Dec 24th  - 10 am

PARISH PRAYER NETWORK -Each day parishioners will pray for our parish, for people who need God’s help & for special intentions.  If you wish to be part of the PARISH PRAYER NETWORK. come to a special Mass for the PRAYER NETWORK on Tuesday NOV 29th at 7 pm, or phone the office to sign up.  Your phone number and/or e-mail will be needed.

ARCHBISHOP ANTHONY MEAGHER invites all youth, young adults & all people of the diocese to a Catechesis Session at St Mary’s Cathedral on the 1st Sunday of Advent,  NOV 27th at 7:30 pm.  The evening begins with a talk by Archbishop Meagher, continuing with the celebration of the Eucharist & concluding with a social time.

Thurs, DEC 8th - Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady- in his special letter about
the Eucharist, Pope John Paul II called Mary “Woman of the Eucharist”. Let us honour her on our diocesan feast & pray, as the Pope recommended that Mary, the model of the Church”guide us towards this most holy sacrament”.

Advent Lessons & Carols -traditional service includes readings from Sacred Scripture, accompanied by favourite carols of the Advent season, led by the Newman House Choir - at St Mary’s Cathedral - Sat DEC 10th 7:30 pm. Invite your friends!

Prayer for Vocations

O God. who has chosen the Apostles to propagate the faith & to establish Your Holy Church throughout the world, we earnestly beseech You to choose from amongst  our people many priests, deacons, religious brothers & sisters and lay persons who will gladly devote their entire lives in making YOU known & loved by all.
Through the intercession of our Blessed Lady, we ask this through Christ our Lord.   Amen.
