FEAST OF CHRIST the KING
Today’s gospel tells of the works of mercy: feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, welcoming the stranger, clothing the naked, giving drink to the thirsty, visiting those in prison, - if we perform these acts of charity for our brothers and sisters in need we are doing it for the Lord and will be rewarded with eternal life.

PRIEST’S BENEFIT FUND At Masses across the Archdiocese of Kingston next weekend, a collection will be taken for the  Priests’ Benefit Fund.  Most of the priests who are now living in retirement due to age or illness are priests we have known, respected and even loved as pastors.   They are good men of God who helped us live out our Catholic faith for generations - from baptizing our babies to offering words of comfort at the funerals of our loved ones.  In the best and worst times of our lives, our priests have been there with us, like family, hearing us out and helping us out.  And now some of them have come to a time of life when they could use our support.  Lay people had never been asked to help until three years ago.  Despite a generous response across the diocese and in this parish since then, the Priests’ Benefit Fund still needs building up to meet the growing need.  Please give your prayerful consideration to how much you should put in that envelope next weekend.

Prayer for Vocations

O God. who has chosen the Apostles to propagate the faith & to establish Your Holy Church throughout the world, we earnestly beseech You to choose from amongst  our people many priests, deacons, religious brothers & sisters and lay persons who will gladly devote their entire lives in making YOU known & loved by all. Through the intercession of our Blessed Lady, we ask this through Christ our Lord.   Amen.
