24th SUNDAY in ORDINARY TIME
September 11th, 2005
+++++++++++++++ Jesus asks us to forgive.  Our response to injury and injustice must be to forgive.  Jesus’ command to forgive challenges the divisions within  our families, workplaces, and communities.  We need to believe that love is stronger than hate, that retaliation is counter-productive, and that justice must be left to our Heavenly Father.  If God sent His only son to be crucified so that our sins would be forgiven, than likewise we are called to take up our own crosses by forgiving each other. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

PARISH WELLNESS MINISTRY includes monthly Masses at the Nursing Homes & taking Holy Communion to our homebound parishioners.  For a Pastoral visit, call the  parish office - 546-0418.

REMEMBER OUR PARISH SUPPORTS “PARTNERS IN MISSION”.  Bring a non-perishable item to Mass next week for the Food Bank.  Volunteers deliver our Parish food donations weekly.

BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES for the newly baptized are in the Parish Mailbox in the church.  If you attend Mass at the school, call the Parish office & the certificate will be sent there.

HOLY NAME PARISH  has four hockey teams in the Church Athletic League.  Sign up for Holy Name Hockey on the C.A.L. web site.

THIS YEAR’S PROGRAM FOR TUESDAY EVENINGS IS CALLED: “KNOWING GOD BETTER”.
Every body is invited.  The format will be: 6:15 - Meal; 7 pm - Video; 7:35- small group discussion; 8:40 final prayers.  We have room for 25 people.  Sign up continues this week.  BEGINS SEPT 20th .

A NEW PARISH DIRECTORY IS IN THE WORKS!  We need YOUR help!  Excluding Thanksgiving weekend, all other weekends in October will be dedicated to taking family portraits for the directory  after the Masses at the Church and St Martha’s School.  We are looking for parishioners who own businesses to advertise in this book (this will pay for the printing of the books), and creative minds to write a 120 word or less excerpt (on their fond memories of Holy Name Parish, including its history, activities, events, restoration, or what this community has personally meant to them).  More information to follow next week.  Call Katie or Steven @ 531-4323 for further information.

BEREAVED FAMILIES OF ONTARIO  will hold their monthly Mother’s Night on Tuesday SEPT 13th  7:30pm.  721 Progress Ave. Unit 1.  Facilitator Tina Pane will discuss: “Dealing with the anger that comes with grief.” More info: 634-1230
