4th Sunday in Ordinary Time
The Beatitudes give us cause for reflection, forcing us to confront whether we are guided by the gospel or by the pattern set by society.
This is Christ’s perspective on what brings happiness now and in the future.
Often we are stronger, more compassionate, tolerant or wiser,
because we have permitted difficult situations to shape us into better people.

Catholic Women’s League News: General meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7 pm in
St. Joseph’s Room (Valentine theme).
Items collected for Dr. Simone (Canadian Food for Children) will be delivered to Toronto in the spring.

New Parish Database
To help us obtain a more accurate account of our parishioners we are asking that all families fill out a new registration form. Please be thorough and fill out the entire form (including all family members) so we can ensure that our records are accurate. When you have the form filled out please drop it in the collection basket. Please spread the news to your fellow parishioners that may not pick up bulletins.   Thank You for your cooperation! 

Tax Receipts:  will be available in the office Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm until February 18th at which point they will be mailed out.  Please try to pick up your receipts before Feb. 18th to save the church postage.

Stained Glass Window Donations
$20,658 has been donated to date.  You can make a donation any time by using any envelope and indicating that it is for the window restoration project.  Thank You for your generous response!

First Communion Registrations:
If your child is in grade 2 and ready to make his/her First Reconciliation & Communion please call Christine at the parish office to register.

Although our primary goal is to foster and promote community spirit, approximately 60 % of every ticket sold will benefit the fundraising efforts of Holy Name Catholic Church & St. John’s Presbyterian Church.



Development & Peace Workshop for Share Lent:

World Day of the Sick Mass with Archbishop O’Brien:
On Friday, Feb. 11 at 11 am in Hotel Dieu Hospital Chapel. This Mass will honour all those who have served in healthcare and remember all those who are in need of healthcare. There will be a blessing of healthcare providers and intercessory prayers for those who are sick. Following the liturgy there will be a meet and greet with Archbishop O’Brien.

St. John Fisher Dinner: On March 31 the Missionaries of Catholic Christian Outreach, with the Newman House Catholic Club at Queen’s University will hold the 4th St. John Fisher Dinner. The program includes a reception, a served dinner, and inspiring presentations. This year’s guest speaker will be the most reverend Thomas Christopher Collins, Archbishop of Toronto. His talk is entitled: “Blessed John Henry Newman: A Saint for the Next Generation of Catholic Leaders”. Tickets- $65 each.  www.cco.ca/jfdinner or call Dan Freeman at 613-217-2819.

Campaign Life Coalition meeting on Thursday, Feb. 10 at St. Paul the Apostle Church from 7 to 9 pm.
Jim Hughes, National President of CLC and Vice President of International Right to Life will be the guest speaker. Refreshments will be served.

New Life Support Group:  a Catholic Ministry for the Separated and Divorced will meet on Tuesday, Feb 1 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Diocesan Centre on Palace Rd. Topic: Financial Issues. Speaker: Jeri Bittorf.
