1st Sunday of Advent
Advent is a time especially blessed by God which summons us to stay awake and to prepare in joyful hope for the coming of our saviour, Jesus Christ.
Advent is our opportunity to welcome Jesus into our lives and advance on our spiritual journey by walking in the light of the Lord.

Restoration of Church Windows

The Property Committee began the process of evaluating the condition of the stained glass windows in Holy Name Church some time ago. After appraisals by several experts in this field it as determined that we had to proceed with this project if the Church is to be used for the foreseeable future. Upon consultation with the Archdiocesan Financial Council, approval was given to move forward with this large project. Since this will require a large expenditure of money we are hoping to begin a campaign to provide the funds to carry out this work. If you are interested in assisting with fundraising events please contact Fr. Gillis or Christine in the office.

Joke
A Sunday school teacher was discussing Noah and the Ark with her class.
“What do you think Noah and his family did while they were on the ark?”
“They spent all day feeding the animals” one girl replied.
“What do you think they did for food” asked the teacher, “Do you think they fished from the deck for their supper?”
“No”, replied a boy in the front row.
“They could have only caught two fish the whole time.”Puzzled, the teacher asked Why is that?”
“Because they only had two worms!”, the boy replied.
