Communion Brunch
Sponsored by our Mission Committee.  October 24th at 12:15 at Rideau Acres Hall.  This Year our Guest Speaker is Dr. Andrew Simone a co founder of the organization; Canadian Food for Children. Over thirty years ago Dr. Simone(a Harvard Educated skin care specialist) and his wife gave their life savings to charity. In 1985, with the blessing of Mother Theresa, they started CFFC, an organization that runs with volunteers only so that 100 % of what you donate goes to the poor. They now ship over 5 million kilograms of food and necessities per year to children in over 30 countries. Get your tickets early for a great meal and an enlightening presentation! Tickets: $11/ person or $33 / family - available after weekend Masses.
Please note that we pay $10.73 per ticket given out. Family tickets are for Mom, Dad and children under 19 yrs old. Family rates do not cover extended family.

Mission Committee Meeting: Monday, October 4th at 7 pm in the upstairs living room of Monsignor Raby House.

Catholic Women’s League general meeting is on Wednesday October 6th at 7 pm in St. Joseph’s Room.
85th Anniversary of our Catholic Women’s League
Thank you to the executive and to all members who helped in any way at the Mass on Saturday and the celebration on Sunday. We are most grateful to Guy Lahaie and all who helped prepare and serve the meal.

Volunteers needed: to assist with Children’s Liturgy at 9:00 am Mass at the Church. A couple in our parish has graciously agreed to run the program but to do so functionally we need 4 to 6 more volunteers. If you are interested please call Christine at the parish office to inquire about screening procedures.

Life Chain: Sunday, October 3, 2010  - 2:00 -3:00 pm the Annual Life Chain will be held across Canada. In Kingston we will gather at the Newlands Pavilion (next to Murney Tower on King St.) at 1:45 pm. After opening prayers we will walk to King St. across from Kingston General Hospital where more than 30,000 preborn babies have been deliberately killed by abortion. This is a prayerful, silent event remembering all the victims of abortion. Please come for an hour of silent prayer and witness to the sanctity of human life. Attention Seniors: On Thursday, 7 October 2010, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm the Entertainment to Seniors Committee of the St. Joseph’s Parish Council will provide an afternoon of musical entertainment featuring the local talent of Chris Murphy and Jon McLurg, in celebration of Thanksgiving, at St. Joseph’s Church. Come and bring a friend or two! A free will offering will be accepted.

A Diocesan Pilgrimage is being planned for Sat. Oct. 30, 2010 to Montreal to celebrate the canonization of Brother André. The Mass of Thanksgiving will be at 2:00 pm at the Olympic Stadium. The cost is $60 which covers the bus and an evening meal. The diocese has 100 tickets. Registration forms can be obtained by phoning 613-548-4461 or emailing ore@romancatholic.kingston.on.ca. Registration is needed by October 8.

Regiopolis-Notre Dame High School: Early progress report cards will be issued Friday – October 8th.  Parent teacher interviews will be held Thursday – October 14th  3-5:30 pm & 6:30 -8:30 pm and Wednesday –
 October 20th 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

Annual Catholic Women’s League Archdiocesan Retreat: will be held October 16, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 490 Days Road, from 9 am to 3 pm. Cost $8.00. Coffee and muffins am - brown bag lunch. This year’s theme is “We are called to be Ambassadors of Hope” – w/ Father Bill Burke, CCCB National Liturgy Director. Life Teen, a youth ministry for high school teens begins on Sunday, October 17th at St. Paul the Apostle Parish. All High school teens are invited to join us for our themed Life Night “It’s a Jungle Out There” 5:15 pm Free dinner and life night. 7:30 pm Life Teen Mass –

REgiWEAR: eco-friendly, quality, affordable Clothing.  Regi-Wear Clothing store is accepting donations of gently used RND uniform pieces. The store is open every Tuesday at lunch time. Prices range from $5 to $25. All proceeds from the sales will be used to help the youth of our community. Donations can be dropped off to Student Services.
