3rd Sunday of Easter
We are all called to bear witness and to go out and preach His name in a world that does not always want to hear the truth.
It is not always easy to do what is right but all of us can find some role where we can be helpful to others.
We are presented with daily opportunities to help the elderly, listen to the bereaved or give human contact to the lonely.
We need only to be willing to take time.

Readings for 4th Sunday of Easter:  1st Reading: Acts 13.14, 43-52
                                                             2nd Reading: Revelation 7.9, 14b-17
                                                             Gospel:  John 10.27-30

Envisioning a Victimless Society You can help make your community safer with just a few hours a week of volunteering. When people who have committed a sexual offence serve their full sentence, they are released from prison into the community with no supervision and no support.  However, if those same high risk offenders are surrounded by a circle of volunteers who will hold them accountable and support them in their efforts to live in pro-social ways, the sexual reoffending rate is reduced by 83%. This is what the Circles of Support and Accountability Program does and you can be part of it. Volunteers receive formal & ongoing training and guidance in order to work towards our motto: “No More Victims!”  For more information call The Salvation Army Freedom Ministries at 613-549-2676.

Joke
A pirate had a wooden leg, a hook on one arm, and a patch over one eye.
Someone asked him how these things happened.
He said that a shark bit off his leg, a crocodile chewed off his hand and a bird dropping hit him in the eye.
The other guy indicated that he understood about the shark and crocodile but a patch over the eye because of a bird dropping?
… that he didn’t understand…
until the pirate told him that the bird dropping hit him in the eye  the first day he had his new hook.
