2nd Sunday of Easter
This gospel points out that faith does not always come easily.
Sometimes believing is a struggle and a real challenge,
but, ultimately it is faith that makes our life meaningful because it’s an adventure of spirit searching for an encounter with God.
The faith of the apostles increased as they became more intimate with Christ.
The same is true of our faith; it will grow provided we are more Christ-like in our daily lives.

Envisioning a Victimless Society You can help make your community safer with just a few hours a week of volunteering. When people who have committed a sexual offence serve their full sentence, they are released from prison into the community with no supervision and no support.  However, if those same high risk offenders are surrounded by a circle of volunteers who will hold them accountable and support them in their efforts to live in pro-social ways, the sexual reoffending rate is reduced by 83%. This is what the Circles of Support and Accountablility Program does and you can be part of it. Volunteers receive formal & ongoing training and guidance in order to work towards our motto: “No More Victims!”  For more information call The Salvation Army Freedom Ministries at 613-549-2676.

Joke
Little Jimmy’s preschool class went on a field trip to the fire station.
The firefighter giving the presentation held up a smoke detector and asked the class:
“Does anyone know what this is?”
Little Jimmy’s hand shot up and the firefighter called on him.
Little Jimmy replied: “That’s how mommy knows supper is ready!”
