2nd Sunday in Lent
Lent gives us the opportunity to put ourselves in “Spiritual Shape”.
Jesus does not change the world but He can transform our hearts – if we let Him.
The transfiguration is about letting the Glory of God shine through us so that others can catch a glimpse of that Glory.

Sale of Art from the Holy Land: The main income for the Christian community of Bethlehem – The Birth Place of Jesus- is selling their hand crafted olive wood religious items to the pilgrims who visit the area. The past few years have been extremely hard for the community as a result of declining tourism. Some Christians responded by fleeing the Holy Land, and the absence of a living Christian community is very dangerous for the Holy Sites such as the Church of the Nativity.  On March 6th & 7th we will be having some of their beautiful art held for sale in an effort to strengthen the Christian presence in the Holy Land. This sale will take place in the Church and School entryways after Masses on March 6th & 7th.  The Archdiocese of Kingston supports this initiative. Holy Land Wood Art – Jean 289-997-3215.

New Life Group:  A catholic ministry for the separated and divorced will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, March 2 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Diocesan Centre on Palace Rd.  Topic: Living and Grieving in Grace (Anger/Guilt).  Facilitator : Rev. Tim Kuhlmann.

Joke
The small town’s sheriff was also its veterinarian. One night the phone rang and his wife answered.
An agitated voice inquired, “Is your husband there?”
“Do you require his services as a sheriff or as a vet?”
“Both. We can’t get our dog’s mouth open, and there’s a burglar in it.”
