2nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
This gospel reading is about more than Jesus turning water into wine.
John is telling us that we need to be refreshed, to let Christ touch
the water of our lives and bring greater understanding.
Wherever Jesus is found, life is always changed for the better.
Readings for 3rd Sunday
in Ordinary Time: 1st Reading: Nehemiah
8.24,5-6,8-10
2nd Reading: 1 Corinthians 12.12-30

Parish Council Meeting:
Monday, January 25, 7:00 pm in St. Joseph’s Room.
Relief:
Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict has called on Catholics to join him in
prayer for the victims of the earthquake and to show them our
solidarity through concrete support. The Canadian Conference of
Catholic Bishops and the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development
and Peace are launching an emergency campaign for Haiti. This
week there will be envelopes in the pews. Please give generously!
Thank you for praying for
our armed forces. Please continue to pray for
those now serving in foreign lands: Carl Turenne & David
Hannon.
Thank You
to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the
St. Vincent DePaul Society.
They report that our food is not on the shelf very long. Poor
families are truly in need.

Prayer for Vocations
Eternal God..
Bless your Church with holy and faithful priests, deacons, brothers and
sisters.
Give those you have called to the married state,
And those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world,
the special graces that their lives require.
Form us in the likeness of Your Son
So that in Him, with Him and through Him
We may love you more deeply and serve you more faithfully
always and everywhere.

Joke
A young man walked into our insurance office to purchase coverage for
his new motorcycle.
Only one question confused him.
“Do you have a lien holder on the vehicle?”
“I’ve got a kickstand,” the prospect
replied.
“Is that the same thing?”
