Christmas
Many of us are disappointed because we look for God in the spectacular,
but the Christmas Story tells us that God can be found in the ordinary, in people and in the situations we take for granted.
We can experience Jesus’ presence in our hearts.
We need only to make room for Him and ask the Lord for grace in this short life to do things His way.

Christmas Message: How joyful it would have been to be present on that first Christmas Night when the Glory of God broke through time and entered our world in the person of Jesus Christ.  Often this is called the “First Night” because of the Nativity of Our Lord and the beginning of salvation for all.  I often think back to my first parish in Flinton and how excited I was to prepare for my first Midnight Mass in that small country parish.  In a small village life is much simpler and it was obvious that people expected the Parish Priest to assist in all preparations, so I began my ministry in a very active way.  Time has passed but we still celebrate Christmas with that sense of something “new” coming into our lives so as we celebrate our first Christmas together  I hope that this will be  a time of joy and peace for each and every member of Holy Name of Jesus Parish,  especially the sick and housebound.   Each Priest brings the same gift of their priesthood with them as they move to new assignments however we also bring different gifts and personalities.  I pray that this Christmas will bring something new and wonderful into your life through an awakening of the relationship that Christ has come to have with you.  May your faith be strengthened and your love for Him renewed in each Sacrament you receive.  May you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Volunteers: A huge thank you to all those who helped decorate and all those who helped coordinate Christmas Masses and events. Thanks also to all who have participated in the Pageant, Christmas Masses and Choirs. A special thank-you to Glocca Morra Farms.
