16th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus is our shepherd.
He protects us, cares for us, and saves us from our own stubbornness and foolishness.
He restores our soul and prepares a table for us.
Each time we gather for the Eucharist we remember His incredible gift of Himself and we are thankful.
We know that the Lord is our shepherd and there is nothing we shall want.
All we need to do is listen to His voice and follow Him.

Note From  Pastor:

I would like to thank each and every one of you who have been praying for my brother Frank,  he has benefited from the many who have made mortifications on his behalf.  He is still very ill and requires a quadruple by-pass,  so keep those prayers up!!  Also I am looking forward to my official installation with Archbishop O’Brien on Saturday evening.  Finally,  I know many of you remember me from 15 years ago when I lived here as a seminarian and if I had the abilities of Fr. Whalen I would remember all your names,  however I am who I am and sometimes I forget who that is!!  Be patient with me and please mention your name with introductions, thanks.

Friday Morning Holy Hours:  During the year of the priest I will be having a holy hour from 8:00 until 9:00 am every Friday.  I would invite all who wish to join me in the time of asking our Lord for grace for me and all priests who serve you.

Thank you for praying for our armed forces .  Please continue to pray for those now serving in foreign lands: Carl Turenne & David Hannon.

Thank you to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They report that our food is not on the shelf very long.  Poor families are truly in need. Thank you for helping them.

Prayer for Priests
Eternal God, please bless our priests, who represent You on this earth.
Make them more greatly aware of the grace that You pour out through them when they minister the sacraments,
and help them to fall more deeply in love with You after each and every Mass that they celebrate.
Please strengthen our priests, who shepherd your flock,
when they are in doubt of their faith, that they may be examples of your Truth
and guide us always on the path to You.
We ask these things of You our Eternal Priest.

Amen.

Joke
Soon after our last child left home for college, my husband was resting next to me on the couch with his head in my lap.
I carefully removed his glasses. “You know honey,” I said sweetly, “Without your glasses you look like the same handsome young man I married.”
“Honey,” he replied with a grin, “Without my glasses, you still look pretty good too!”
