15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
When Jesus sent out the twelve he gave clear instructions.
They were to take a walking stick and sandals and they were to go out in pairs.
Each of these things offers support in their mission.
As we carry out our part of Jesus mission we always need others for support and encouragement.
We also need to recognize our call to be a support to others.

A SINCERE NOTE OF THANKS

As I draw the pastoral curtain of stewardship at Holy Name this week, I wish to extend my sincere appreciation to all of you, the good people of this parish. It’s been one year of love and friendship, support and guidance, hard work and fruitfulness and I thank you for making it so. You are simply a bunch of good souls and I Pray that our paths will cross again. May God bless and keep you all.

Fr. Cosmas Ajawara

Thank you for praying for our armed forces .  Please continue to pray for those now serving in foreign lands: Carl Turenne & David Hannon.

Thank you to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They report that our food is not on the shelf very long.  Poor families are truly in need. Thank you for helping them.

Spouse Prayer for Each Other
Lord Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other.  Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.
Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony.
May we always bear with one another’s weaknesses and grow from each other’s strengths.
Help us to forgive one another’s failings and grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one another ahead of self.

May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year.
Bring us both ever closer to you through our love for each other.
Let our love grow to perfection.
Amen.

Joke
After tucking their three-year-old child Sammy in for bed one night, his parents heard sobbing coming from his room.
Rushing back in, they found him crying hysterically.
He managed to tell them that he had swallowed a penny and he was sure he was going to die.
No amount of talking was helping.
His father, in an attempt to calm him down, palmed a penny from his pocket and pretended to pull it from Sammy’s ear.
Sammy was delighted.
In a flash, he snatched it from his father’s hand, swallowed, and then cheerfully demanded, “Do it again, Dad!”
