Passion Sunday
Passion Sunday is a time to reflect on the pains, suffering and death of our Lord Jesus.
With only a few days left in the Lenten Season
it is appropriate for each of us to take time to personally reflect on the love of Jesus
who endured so much for each and every one of us.

Confessions:  Fr. Cosmas will be available to hear confessions after Stations of the Cross on Good Friday.

First Communion Celebrations: St Martha School – Sunday, April 19, 1 pm and 3 pm - Church
                                                         Holy Name School – Sunday, April 26, 3 pm - Church

A donation of a lily or hydrangea for the Easter Altar would be appreciated. Please call the office if you need to make arrangements for drop off.

Knights of Columbus: The regular Knights of Columbus meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:30 pm in St. Joseph’s Room. 

Ladies Night Planning Meeting: The planning meeting will take place Thursday April 16th at 7 pm in the St. Joseph’s Room of Monsignor Raby House.  All parish men who are interested in assisting with this year’s ladies night are welcome to attend.  Ladies Night will be held Saturday, May 9th 2009.

Blood Donor Clinic ; Knights of Columbus are sponsoring another blood donor clinic on April 28th. Signup sheets are at the entryway.  For details call George 613-549-5741.

Thank you for praying for our armed forces .  Sonny Hatton has returned home safely. Please continue to pray for those now serving in foreign lands: Brandon Kew & Carl Turenne.

Thank you to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They report that our food is not on the shelf very long.  Poor families are truly in need. Thank you for helping them.

Thank You:  The Parish Fish Fry was a huge Success.  Thanks to everyone who made it possible and thanks to all who came out for great food and fellowship.

Seven Last Words- Good Friday : On Good Friday from 12 noon to 2 pm at St. Mary’s Cathedral, the students of Newman House will be leading the Seven Last Words devotion – readings, meditations and music which prayerfully recall the seven times that Jesus speaks from the Cross.  Father Raymond de Souza will preach the meditations on the theme, “St. Paul:  The Preacher of Christ Crucified”, and the students will lead the music.

Bereaved Families of Ontario:  will hold their monthly Mother’s Night on Tuesday, April 14th at 7:30 pm at 721 Progress Ave, Unit 1.  Our facilitator is Caroline Yates.  Topic: “The Season’s of Grief- Spring” All mothers who have lost a child through death are welcome to attend and share their feelings and concerns with others who have experienced a similar loss.  For further info. Women in Leadership at the United Nations:  Social Justice Presentation by Sister Pierette Boisse CND –Director of the Social Justice Office- Congregation of Notre Dame of Montreal.  Topic – Current Issues promoting justice and dignity for all, particularly women and children.  Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00 pm, St. Joseph’s Parish Hall, Kingston.

Spring Seniors Christian Spirituality Series:  Contemplative Living   Providence Spirituality Centre Thursday, April 23 & May 14 at  9:45 am to 1:00 pm.  $20 / Session – includes lunch.

Pastoral Care Visitor Course:  will be offered on Sat. April 18, from 9:30 am to 1 pm at the Diocesan Centre, 390 Palace Rd. Kingston.  Presenters will be Fr. David Collins, Fr.
