Fish Fry:  Holy Name Parish Annual Fish Fry will take place on Friday, March 27th at Rideau Acres .Dinner will be served from 5:30 to 7:00pm.  There is a signup sheet for dessert. All proceeds will go to our Parish Mission Fund.  Tickets are on sale after Masses this weekend $12 / person or $30 / family.

Thank you to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. They report that our food is not on the shelf very long.  Poor families are truly in need. Thank you for helping them.

Lent   We are asked to take up the challenges of meaningful penance as expressed in FAST & ABSTINENCE (after 14 yrs).  This means not to eat meat or some other favourite food & the practice of moderation in all food & drink on all Fridays of the year.  FASTING (after 18 & up to 59) can vary from person to person – some a total fast, taking only bread and water; others adopt a vegetarian diet on a day of fast; others take only one complete meal.  Lent is a time of repentance – a time for more prayer – a time of discipline and sacrifice – a time to be generous and caring to the poor – all for the love of God.

Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School- Early Semester Report Cards were issued Friday, March 13th.  Parent teacher interview night will be held Thursday, March 26th 3-6 pm and 7-9 pm.

Exodus 2009 – A Future Without Abortion:  On Sunday, March 15, 2009 Campaign Life Coalition will be sponsoring a public witness and prayer as part of the 40 Days for Life –Exodus 2009 campaign for an end to abortion.  This witness will take place in front of Kingston General Hospital from 3:00 pm until 4 pm.  We will meet across from KGH on Stuart St. at 2:45 pm.
