Jesus challenges his followers to build their houses on rock.
The rock that we must build our lives on consists of listening to the Word of God and acting on it
so that when the winds and rain and floods of life come,
we will not be swept away.

Special Collection for Relief efforts in Myanmar The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, together with the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, has launched an emergency appeal for funds to assist the relief efforts in Myanmar (Burma) following Typhoon Nargis, which left more than 100,000 dead and millions of people homeless.
The funds collected will be sent to Caritas Internationalis, of which CCODP is a member.  Caritas Internationalis has opened a special office in Thailand, which borders Myanmar.

Joke
My pastor friend put sanitary hot air hand dryers in the rest rooms at his church and after two weeks took them out.

I asked him why and he confessed that they worked fine but when he went in there he saw a sign that read,
"For a sample of this week’s sermon, push the button."
