6th Sunday of Easter
We are not alone.
No matter what happens–death, suffering, betrayal, illness, poverty–God does not abandon us.
We know God’s fidelity in the love of a spouse, in the caring of friends and in the generosity of fellow humans.
God’s promise is true: “I will not leave you orphaned.”
If relationships nurture our hope with a sense of God’s fidelity, it is critical that we be signs of hope for each other.

JOKE
A priest was visiting a local school and wanting to point out the proper behavior for church.
He was trying to elicit from the youngsters rules that their parents might give before taking them to a nice restaurant.
“Don’t play with your food,” one second-grader cited.
“Don’t be loud,” said another, and so on.
“And what rule do your parents give you before you go out to eat?” the priest inquired of one little boy.
Without batting an eye, the child replied, “Order something cheap.”
