Passion Sunday
Jesus went forward, trusting that His loving Father would see Him through everything.
Jesus was sustained and nourished through steadfast prayer.
Jesus could do what God asked of Him because He let go of everything and emptied Himself.
Letting go is what our prayer, fasting and almsgiving have been all about.
We are called to empty ourselves as Jesus did,
giving ourselves for the sake of others so that we may stand emptied at the table of the Lord
ready to be nourished by Christ’s Body and Blood and filled with the Spirit.

Joke.
One day God called Jesus and His helpers into a meeting.
God said that He wanted them to create a data base on heaven’s super computer.
He said He wanted them to list everyone who had ever been born and all the good and bad things that each had done since the beginning of time.
They all said that they could do that and so they sat at their keyboards for hours, then days and weeks.
Finally they were almost done when there was a power failure in heaven and the computers all went off.
Only seconds later the lights came on and all the computers started to re-boot.
There was much crying and gnashing of teeth and pounding keyboards as this happened.
Down at the end of the table sat Jesus with a big smile on His face.
Why was Jesus smiling amongst all this dismay?
Jesus Saves!!!!
