A special thank you to all who contributed to the Priest’s Benefit Fund.  Your generosity will help our priests enjoy a dignified retirement.  Our total parish contribution was $5854.00.
Thank you very much for supporting our priests.

Greenwood Park Church: Finally last week our Parish Committee was able to make a presentation to Archbishop O’Brien and the Diocesan property Sub-Committee about building a bigger Holy Name Parish in Greenwood Park.  They will now consider our presentation and respond in a couple of month- probably February or March.

Volunteers are needed to help organize the Parish Potluck supper on Saturday, January 19 at Holy Name School at 6:45pm
7:00 p.m - Supper Begins
8:00 p.m.- Slide Show       
8:20 p.m.-Special Entertainment
We need people to volunteer to -set-up tables and chairs
          -buy plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, etc.(with parish funds)

ATTENTION PARENTS OF GRADE TWO STUDENTS: Meetings for preparing for First Confession and First Communion will be as follows
                            -St. Martha School - Tuesday, January 22nd at 7 p.m.
                            -Holy Name School and other schools - Wednesday, January 23rd  at 7 p.m.

PLEASE REMEMBER HOLY NAME PARISH WHEN YOU MAKE OUT YOUR WILL.  IT IS A GREAT WAY TO RECOGNIZE THE BLESSINGS THE LORD HAS GIVEN YOU AND TO ASSIST IN THE CONTINUED BUILDING OF HIS KINGDOM.

Thank you to all who continue to bring food items every weekend for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.  SVP Society reports that our food is not on the shelf very long.  Poor families are truly in need.  Thank you for helping them. (Matthew 25:35"I was hungry and you fed me”.)

The Parish Bazaar Totals are still being calculated.  A final total will be published in the new year.

Parish Prayer Network consists of over 50  parishioners who pray for you each day.  They also pray for people in need and for special intentions.  If you would like to join the Prayer Network, or if you have an intention for the Prayer Network  please call 613-546-0418

Holy Innocents Candlelight Vigil will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in front of Kingston General Hospictal.  At this time, during the Christmas season we remember the Holy Innocents, the babies who were killed by Herod seeking the Christ Child.  We will gather to pray for our “innocents”, the more than 26,000 babies killed at KGH by the sin of abortion.  Please join us at 6:45 pm. on the hill across from KGH(Stuart St.) for prayers and hymns.  Please bring your own candle in a glass jar (flashlight for children).  For more information call Campaign Life Coalition at 613-389-4472 or 613-382-1084

Bereaved Families of Ontario - Kingston Region will hold their monthy Mother’s Night on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 beginning at 7:30 at the office located at 721 Progress Ave.  The facilitators are Heather Johnston and Tina Pane and the tipic is “Patience in the Midst of Grief”.  Mothers who have lost a child through death are welcome to attend and share their feelings and concerns with others who have experienced similar loss.  For further info. please call 613-634-1230

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2008, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - The process of registering for World Youth Day 2008 (July 2008) will be the same as for previous World Youth Days.  All registrations will be coordinated through the Archdiocese of Kingston Youth Office.  If you or someone you know is planning to attend WYD2008 please contact Mary Carr at 613-548-4461.
