33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Today’s readings speak of living our lives fully - using the gifts and talents which God has given us - in the best manner - that is for the good of others. If we do this there will be a special place for others in eternity - we will “enter into the joy” of the Lord.Statue of Mary: (Please leave in the entrance after the Mass you attend for the next family)
The week of Nov 13th prayers will be offered in the home of Donna & Joe Soja.
The week of Nov 20th prayers will be offered in the home of Judy & Paul Couture.ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT IN THE CHAPEL ALL DAY THURSDAY
INTENTIONS: VOCATIONS + SANCTITY OF LIFE + ALL WHO ARE ILL
If you can give an hour to Jesus - please call Shirley - 548-3091 or Karla - 546-0418.In your prayers please remember Matthew Graham who left a bequest to Holy Name Parish in his will. Please consider your parish in your will. It is another way to help God’s work.
PRIEST’S BENEFIT FUND At Masses across the Archdiocese of Kingston next weekend, a collection will be taken for the Priests’ Benefit Fund. Most of the priests who are now living in retirement due to age or illness are priests we have known, respected and even loved as pastors. They are good men of God who helped us live out our Catholic faith for generations - from baptizing our babies to offering words of comfort at the funerals of our loved ones. In the best and worst times of our lives, our priests have been there with us, like family, hearing us out and helping us out. And now some of them have come to a time of life when they could use our support. Lay people had never been asked to help until three years ago. Despite a generous response across the diocese and in this parish since then, the Priests’ Benefit Fund still needs building up to meet the growing need. Please give your prayerful consideration to how much you should put in that envelope next weekend.
The Tuesday Night Series”Knowing God Better” has concluded. It was excellent. We will run it again next September for those who missed it. Bible Study begins in January. More details later.
