26th  SUNDAY in ORDINARY TIME
September 26,   2004
Today’s gospel leaves us feeling somewhat uncomfortable.  Jesus doesn’t mince words about where the rich man ends up.  The rich man was condemned not because of his money, but because of the way he chose to use it.  In living a life of total of self-indulgence, he failed to look to the needs of those around him.  For his neglect, he spends eternity in torment.  As Christians, we know that we must share with those less fortunate and do it willingly - after, all eternity is an awfully long time.
