15th Sunday in Ordinary Time - July 16, 2006
Jesus sent his disciples out to proclaim repentance. Jesus wants us to
go out as well. We may not go from door to door but we can
talk to those that our close to us about the importance of
repentance. We should show by our example that we believe in the
sacrament of reconciliation and then at opportune times we can
encourage those that we know and love to be reconciled with God and
others through the gift of confession.

* Recently in the bulletin a request was made for a
donor to help buy a new chalice because the chalice used for weekday
masses was becoming too fragile. Four families generously
responded. As a result, the parish has been able to purchase
other much needed items.
Thank you
to all four families for helping the parish acquire a new chalice, two
new ciboria for holy communion and a new set of Christmas figurines.

Joke
A businessman from Wisconsin went on a business trip to
Louisiana. Upon arriving, he immediately plugged his laptop into
his hotel room phone line and sent a short email back home to his wife,
Jennifer Johnson, at her address, “JennJohn@work.net”
Unfortunately, in his haste, he mistyped a letter and the email ended
up going to “JeanJohn@work.net”, a Jean Johnson in Duluth,
the wife of a preacher who had just passed away and was buried that
day. The preacher’s wife took one look at the email and
promptly fainted. It read: “Arrived safely, but it sure is
hot down here.”
