11th Sunday in Ordinary Time
In the gospel today Jesus tells us that those whose sins are forgiven have a greater capacity to love.  He also says that ‘the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little’.  We all need to be forgiven.  Jesus stills gives us the opportunity to have our sins forgiven in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  We need the virtue of humility to go before the priest, who is persona Christi to ask for forgiveness. Joy and love will be ours if we do so....it is Jesus’s promise.

O God, who has chosen the Apostles to propagate the faith & to establish Your Holy Church, throughout the world, we earnestly beseech You to choose from amongst our people many priests deacons, religious brothers & sisters and lay persons who will gladly devote their entire lives in making you known & loved by all.  Through the intercession of our Blessed Lady, we ask this through Christ our Lord.

JOKE
Quasimodo advertised for a man to ring bells.  The next morning, a fellow came in with no arms.  “Are you Kidding?” said Quasimodo.”I’m serious,” the man said.  “Please give me a chance.”  “Fine,” said Quasimodo.  “Ring the bells.”  After all, who is Quasimodo to discriminate against the handicapped?  The man ran up the stairs, took a flying leap, rang one of the bells with his head-bong!- and collapsed in a heap.  Then he picked himself up, ran up the stairs again, and rang a different bell-boing!  On the third try, however, he missed the bell completely, flew out the window, and fell on the ground, dead.  Immediately, a crowd gathered around the body.  When Quasimodo came out, they said, “Who was this man?”  “I never knew his name,” he replied, “but his face rings a bell.”
