THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
May 22, 2005
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Today’s celebration is not about dogmatic statements we can’t comprehend, but rather a love festival to which we are all invited.  Scriptures and tradition tell us that Father-Son-Spirit live in a perfect community of love.  God, through Jesus in the Holy Spirit, has drawn all creation into that unceasing love and continues to do so until the end of time.  The mystery of the Trinity invites us into an experience of what it is like to be taken into a never-ending circle of love with God who is”merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness”, who sent His Son not to condemn, but to save, and who makes our hearts the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit.

JOKE

After a church service on Sunday morning, a young boy suddenly announced to his mother,
“Mom, I’ve decided to become a minister when I grow up.”   “What made you decide that?”
“Well,” said the little boy,  “I have to go to church on Sunday anyway, and I figure it will be more fun to stand up and yell, than to sit and listen.”
