Mary is a mother who is more attentive to all our needs than any mother on earth ever has been or ever will be.  The miracle of the wine takes place because Our Lady has interceded; it happens only because of her petition.  We need only to go to Mary for all our needs.

Every week you are asked to try to bring food items when you come to Mass.  The St. Vincent de Paul Society is in constant need for food to give to poor families. Help us to feed the hungry.

Bible Study this Tuesday, Jan. 16, 7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph’s room.  Book of Revelation: Review and Chapter 17 & 18   
                
Meetings to prepare for First Confession and First Communion for Grade two Students and their parents:
   -Monday, January 15, 7:00 p.m. at Holy Name School (students from public and french schools should attend)
   -Wednesday, January 17, 7:00 p.m. at St. Martha School

Communion Breakfast: Sunday, January 21st, noon at Rideau Acres.  Full Breakfast: abundant, delicious food. $10 person or $30 family.  Guest speaker: Dr. Karen Yeates.  Karen is a parishioner who is returning to Africa for four months with her husband and children.  Tickets will be available in the new year. 

The latest improvement to our parish is a special place of reservation for the Holy Oils.

INCOME TAX RECEIPTS FOR 2006 - will be handed out this week and next or you can  pick them up at the Parish office. .

MASS & ROSARY FOR THE SICK next Tuesday JAN 16th - rosary will be prayed at 6:40 pm & Mass will follow - please come & pray for our parishioners and others.

The special collection this week is to help the work of Dr. Karen Yeates in Africa.  Karen is a parishioner who is going to Africa for 4 months with her husband, Roman, and their children, Jack and Hanna.  Donations will still be accepted next weekend.  Karen will speak at the Communion Breakfast on January 21st before leaving for Tanzania.  Please pray for them.

Your prayers and kind support for me during my recent sickness gave me needed courage and hope.
Thank you for being there for me.

As part of the Student Success program at Regiopolis-Notre Dame Catholic High School they are compiling a list of interested persons that would be willing to tutor.  If you are a retired teacher, university graduate or an expert in a particular subject area and would like to help with this endeavour please call Linda Lott at 613-545-1902 ext. 2170.

Bereaved Families of Ontario will hold their monthly Family Night, on Tuesday, January 16th, starting at 7:30 p.m. at 721 Progress.  The facilitator is Rita Bell and the topic is: “Journeying, One Day at a Time”.  All bereaved persons are welcome to attend.  For information please call (613)634-1230

Are you, or someone you know, experiencing the trauma of a Separation and/or Divorce?  Where do you turn for help?  Come to the New Life Group Meeting: a Catholic Ministry for the Separated and Divorced on alternate Tuesday evenings.  Next meeting: January 23, Legal Issues, Facilitator: Deborah Swartz.  7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Prayer for Vocations
O God, who has chosen the Apostles to propagate the faith & to establish Your Holy Church, throughout the world, we earnestly beseech You to choose from amongst our people many priests deacons, religious brothers & sisters and lay persons who will gladly devote their entire lives in making you known & loved by all.  Through the intercession of our Blessed Lady, we ask this through Christ our Lord.   Amen
