You can get registration forms in the church entryway or on our website http://holyname.ca. When you have the form filled out please drop it in the collection basket.

Volunteers Needed!
- If you would be interested in leading a parish youth group, being a Children’s liturgy leader for our 10:30 Mass or coordinating hospitality after 10:30 Mass please call Christine at the parish office.

A special thank you to Al Sullivan and all the Knights and parishioners who help with lawn care and yard maintenance. Also thanks to Lynn Scott who maintains the flower gardens. Our church grounds look great thanks to the hard work of these people who generously donate their time.

Catholic Women’s League News: Thank you for the generous donations to Canadian Food for Children. Karla and Bob delivered them on Monday and everything was shipped out to Peru the very next day!

Knights of Columbus have religious themed Christmas cards available for sale. This is not a fundraiser, simply an attempt to ensure you have access to cards that truly honour the reason for Christmas. www.11886knights.com click on news or see the information board in the church entrance.

People in need are provided a comfortable area to “shop at no cost” for their warm outer wear with the help of volunteers each weekday afternoon from 1-3 pm. Please drop off your clean gently used or new winter coats to the parish office or bring it to Mass next weekend, November 12/13, and leave them in the church entryway.

Priests’ Benefit Fund Parish Collection: November 12/13
Next weekend, the annual collection for retired and disabled priests will be taken at each Mass. Please be generous. Last year’s collection received approximately $177,000 and we are grateful, but the expenses of the fund continue to rise. Thank you for caring for those who always cared for us.

Food for the Soul: Hotel Dieu hosts another series...
DVD showing “of God’s and Men” in 3 parts over three lunch hours 12 – 1 pm on Nov. 22,23,and 24 in Centenary 2 Conference Room 1 (just inside the Sydenham Street entrance). It is about a Christian Monastery located in Algeria and the peaceful coexistence as well as the supportive role each played for the other. It is a remarkable film that shows the relationship between Christians and Muslims and their common resistance to a terrorist group who happened to be of Muslim origin. Dialogue will follow each viewing. No cost involved. RSVP is appreciated to organize seating.  Pastoral Care 613-544-3400 ext. 2231.

Joke
You know you’re a mom when:
Your feet stick to the kitchen floor and you don’t care.
Your favourite television program is a cartoon.
The closest you get to gourmet cooking is making rice krispie squares.
You’re so desperate for adult conversation that you spill your guts to the telemarketer that calls and HE hangs up on you!
