23rd & 24th  SUNDAYS in ORDINARY TIME
September 5  &  12,   2004

Jesus lays out for His disciples a list of heavy expectations: neither family ties, nor concern for ourselves or for our belongings, has priority over the call to follow Him. Serious thought is needed before embarking on the Christian journey because that journey, if authentic, will be neither superficial nor easy.   We each have our own journey, but we cannot side-step the toughness of Jesus’ message.  Do our relationships and lifestyles show that we have invited God’s ever-present Spirit to form us truly into the wise people of God?
