13th SUNDAY in ORDINARY TIME

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Being thankful for our many great blessings from God comes with the responsibility of sharing with those  family, friends, or even strangers, who are in need.  Whether this need might be financial, a hand on the shoulder to get through difficult times, a home cooked meal, or a simple cup of water, as Christians we are required to welcome the opportunity of sharing of ourselves.  These gestures are God-inspired, and when we love through simple actions like these, we are recognizing Christ in the face of those around us.

                 The week of June 26th prayers will be offered in the Richardson/Snider Family home.
                 The week of July 3rd prayers will be offered at Fairfield East Nursing Home.
NOTE:   Please leave the statue in the entrance after the Mass you attend for the next family to take home.
Please sign up to have the Statue and Family Prayers in your home.

WE WELCOME FATHER DON OBERWARTH who will offer a Mass in appreciation to all the parishioners who supported him on his journey to the Priesthood.

PARISH WELLNESS MINISTRY includes monthly Masses at the Nursing Homes & taking Holy Communion to our homebound parishioners.  For a Pastoral visit, call the  parish office - 546-0418.

REMEMBER OUR PARISH SUPPORTS “PARTNERS IN MISSION”.  Bring a non-perishable item to Mass next week for the Food Bank.  Volunteers deliver our Parish food donations weekly.

BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES for the newly baptized are in the Parish Mailbox in the church.  If you attend Mass at the school, call the Parish office & the certificate will be sent there.

WORLD YOUTH DAY TUPPERWARE & PAMPERED CHEF FUNDRAISER - June 26th - St. Joseph’s Room 1-4pm.  Help our young people get to Germany! Call Katie @ 531-4323 or Nelda @ 544-3867

*On behalf of the five youth going to World Youth Day, we would sincerely like to thank the parishioners of our church for their overwhelming generosity and support shown during last week’s bake sale.  Your efforts were deeply appreciated and $618.25 was raised.  Thank You!

HOLY NAME PARISH  has four hockey teams in the Church Athletic League.  Registration for next winter is in August, and sign up for Holy Name Hockey.

ALPHA FOLLOW UP: Starting in September the parish will have a follow-up to Alpha very Tuesday evening beginning with a simple meal at 6:15pm. More info later.  Reserve your Tuesdays.

HOLY NAME SOCCER CAMP: JULY 18th - 22nd for ages 7-12 - 9am - 4pm daily @ Holy Name School Registration Due June 24th.  Call Claire Bouvier @ 546-2089

PARISH PROJECTS:

-   Sometime in July the roof of the Church will be re-shingled
-   Queen’s engineering students completed their project concerning additional seating in the Choir Loft. The Finance Committee will look at the results to consider expansion of the loft
-   The kitchen in Monsignor Raby House is being re-modelled and expanded to be of better use for preparing pies for the Bazaar, for Alpha meals, for summer Bridge lunches & for the monthly priests’ lunches
-   recently the Diocesan Finance Committee gave us permission to do a feasibility study for a Greenwood Park Church.

O God, who has chosen the Apostles to propagate the faith & to establish Your Holy Church throughout the world, we earnestly beseech You to choose from amongst our people many priests, deacons, religious brothers & sisters and lay persons who will gladly devote their entire lives in making YOU known & loved by all.
Through the intercession of Our Blessed Lady, we ask this through Christ our Lord.   Amen.
